Kubb, also known as King’s Game, is an outdoor game that is believed to have origins dating back to the Middle Ages. However, there is no documented evidence of the game existing before 1990. Kubb is thought to have originated on the Swedish island of Gotland.
The game is best played on grass, gravel or sand and can accommodate between 2 and 12 players.
The game consists of one king, placed in the centre of the playing area, and five kubb blocks for each team. Six throwing batons are also used.
The objective is to knock down the opposing team's kubb blocks and ultimately topple the king. The winning team must successfully complete the game according to the rules, knocking down all the opposing team's kubb blocks before attempting to topple the king.
